boat wont plane at low speed
I can stay on plane down to 20-21 mph @ 3200 rpm (pretty normal for this type of boat), but would like to be able to get down into the high teens for a couple reasons. 1. the bay can get pretty rough and i'd like to slow it down when i need to, and 2. i'm often in 'convoy' with bigger boats that cruise at 18 mph.. I noticed it doesn’t stay on plane at slower speeds. i am thinking of getting a se sport 400 hydrofoil to help stay on plane at slower speeds. it is the same as the 300 model except it clamps on the cavitaion plate instead of having to drill holes in it. i have the se 200 on my 25 hp and it really helped with getting on plane quicker.. Prevention: it's possible to buy a bad load of fuel, but it's more likely that the fuel went bad while in your boat. leaving a tank near empty for long periods of time can cause condensation and water in the gas. for long-term storage, fill the tank, and for periods of more than three months, you might want to consider a fuel stabilizer.if so, make sure to run the boat long enough to get the. 
boat wont plane at low speed Inboard boats typically don’t suffer from low-speed wander because their rudders have enough surface area to overcome the tendency to veer off course. advertisement / advertise with us sterndrives and outboards don’t really have much of a rudder, relying more on directional prop thrust.. Just remember not to shift back into neutral, or the engine will cut out again. and obviously, shifting this fast can be hard on the engine; it’s okay to do it once or twice to save the day, but before taking the boat out again get that valve fixed. problem: the engine ran fine for a while, but then it shut down and won't re-start..
